Idaho Trip

On the weekend of the 21st of March we had the privilege of traveling to Idaho for our brother-in-law Steve's baptism. We were so excited that it worked out for us to be able to go. Garth was on break between classes and Marissa had no school on Friday so we left here around noon that day. We had beautiful weather for the trip and enjoyed sightseeing along the way. A highlight for me was the giant wind turbines along the Columbia River. It's fasinating to just watch them, especially those that are closer to the freeway. I thought I understood how big they were....

until we passed this! WOW!!! Can you believe the size of that blade?!

We were only able to go 60 miles per hour because we were in the "Toaster". (The car will go faster than that but it sounds like the engine is going to blow when you push it too much and Garth reminded us we need this car to last awhile. :) Good times I might add. We found out you enjoy the trip alot more when you're not flying past everything. However, the down side was that we didn't get into Pocatello until around 2:30 Saturday morning. No problem. The baptism wasn't until 11:00 am so we got plenty of much needed rest.

Here is a picture of Steve, Danae, Keelyn and Andy before the baptism...
What a beautiful family!!

Steve and Garth...all smiles. Actually there were MANY smiles that day. We were so happy we got to be there for this special occasion.

Later we drove down to Grandpa and Grandma Hadley's home. On the way there we decided to stop by the Downey Cemetery to see where Grandpa and Grandma were buried recently. They didn't have their markers up yet but it still felt appropriate to stop for a few minutes.
While we were there Garth took pictures of some of the other family graves.

This is where his father is buried.

Curtiss, (Garth's older brother) who passed away while Garth was serving his mission.

Aunt Mabel (Grandma Hadley's sister)

Grandma and Grandpa Curtis

Grandma Curtis's father.

Grandma Curtis's mother.

This was taken right before we left to head back to Oregon. Since we are the only "plural" Hadley's, we inherited this cool sign that has hung on the front of Grandma and Grandpa's home for as long as I can remember. It was a fast trip but it was worth it being able to be with our family. We love you all!!!
