Grocery shopping isn't my favorite thing to do, however I'll admit on occasion it can provide a bit of social networking. Saturday nights at WinCo anyone? Yeah, just admit it. I'm sure I've seen you there at least once. lol. What are we? Afraid we'll starve before Monday morning?! Just knowing we don't shop on Sunday brings us out in droves by Saturday evening. There's nothing better than catching up with friends in the produce section (or any other aisle for that matter). Okay, so I may have blocked someones path for a brief moment as I was catching up on the latest gossip but at the same time I am quick to move when I recognize someone wants by.Eventually we get back to the business at hand. We may stumble around the store for the next 45 minutes trying to figure out what we want to buy (and if it's really late maybe "in a stupor" is a better way of describing the experience), BUT once we have our cart filled then it's time to get serious! In other words, the race is on to find the shortest line and get the heck out of there. If you're lucky you can find a line that's not too long and then proceed to unload your cart. All is well. Now, here my friends is where the trouble usually starts. In order to bag your groceries it is always helpful to be able to get to the groceries. Ever find yourself behind some "dimwit" that just doesn't understand the concept of "shared space"?! Why are they always the ones whose food is on the side you have to push your cart through to get to the other side? First you try and make eye contact and nudge your cart forward a bit. No luck? Next try giving them the "stink eye". They still stand there... oblivious, happily loading their purchases one by one as if they can't see you, Captain You-Planet!!! Of course they can see you!! They're just being stubborn. So then you ask can they PLEASE let you push your cart past them and most of the time that does it. But every once in awhile it takes nothing short of the checker stopping and asking them to push their basket out of the way. Such was my experience tonight. I have decided they need to put flashing lights around the sign that is at the end of every checkstand that tells you how to position your basket. Can it BE so hard? Anyone else have this problem?
