Elder Hadley (our son Jason) recently sent home several Cd's filled with pictures from his mission. He is loving this time he has to share the gospel as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He just passed his 1 year mark on the 7th of January. He will return home this coming January of 2011. He recently transferred to Apache Junction and seems to be adjusting quickly. Elder Hadley has spoken numerous times of his love for the people and the beauty of the areas where he has served. Looking through the pictures, it's easy to see why he loves it there so much. Below are just a few of the ones he sent:

Elder Hadley and Elder Moa (his companion in Snowflake) with a young girl he baptized.
ONE of the three sure looks like a "local" ;)

This one's kinda cool. Can you see the tornado? They're nothing compared to what you see back in the southeast but still pretty neat to watch. And apparently fairly common.
One day a week the missionaries have what's called a P-day (prep day). This is the day they do laundry, buy groceries, write letters and take care of other necessary things. When time allows, they also get to enjoy some free time with the other missionaries in the area. As you can see, Elder Hadley enjoys every minute of his free time...

How fun to see him! I really hope we cross paths once I get down there!
Thanks for posting these--I loved the one of him in the whoopee cushion; it reminded me of things we would do on my mission.
So adorable. he certainly will have memories to charish once he gets home.
It's so fun to see pictures of my hometown. I recognize the places they were taken by what's in the background. So glad he loved Snowflake.
Looks like he is having a great time on his mission! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
